Interior designer Danila Araya shares four easy, impactful tips to bring more color into your space. From bold accents to unexpected palettes, discover how to transform your home with confidence and creativity.
4 Tips For Adding Color To Your Home
1. Start Small, and Get Comfortable
If you're new to color, think of it as dipping your toes in rather than diving headfirst. Try adding color to your space with easily changeable items like throw pillows, picutre frames or a fun vase. These little items will help you discover what you love (and what you don't) without feeling overwhelmed. Overall, it's a great way to boost your color confidence!

2. Take Inspiration Not Exact Matches
That perfect peach you saved on Pinterest might look totally different in your space – and that's okay. Colors shift based on lighting, surrounding elements, and even the editing in a photo. Instead of obsessing over an exact match, focus on the vibe you love from your inspiration. Then test paint samples on your walls to see how they interact and look at different times of the day.
3. Play and Experiment
Color is meant to be fun, not intimidating. Sure, there's a science behind harmonious pairings, but don't let the rules box you in. If you're drawn to a "weird" combination, lean into it! Experimenting is where the magic happens.

4. Don't Forget the Unexpected Places!
Some of the best opportunities for a color boost are in the overlooked spots of your home. Think closets, window trim, or door jambs. These smaller areas are perfect for experimenting with bold colors or adding a playful touch without committing to a full wall. A little color in an unexpected place can make a big impact.
