The Mural for Moonstruck Chocolate Co. By Lisa Congdon

Jen Paige brought her creative vision to Moonstruck Chocolate Co., where she reimagined the brand's retail spaces with immersive, artful design.

When I started at Moonstruck Chocolate as the Retail & Visual Merchandising Director, they were on the verge of a major rebrand. This historic company with a huge Portland following was not only going to revamp the packaging of every product, but the interior design of multiple retail locations had to change and reflect the new vision as well. Being able to do this for a chocolate company was really a dream job. It was up to us as the marketing, retail, wholesale, R&D, and graphic teams to execute what this would look and feel like to the consumer. It was a massive undertaking.

Obviously, everyone knows Lisa Congdon, and we were fortunate enough to have one of her designs on the inside of our newly branded chocolate bar wrappers.

The Portland downtown shop had a small footprint but very tall ceilings. My plan was to paint it a high-gloss white to make the colors of the Moonstruck packaging pop, while creating the illusion of a bigger space. The long walls called for a mural, and clearly it had to be Lisa.

The next thing we knew, Lisa was there with our Moonstruck crew jammed in our little shop with brushes in their hands. We had one day to complete it and multiple schedules to coordinate, but we made it happen.
